Agile Pakistan and P@SHA are hosting a workshop on Unit testing in Software Engineering this Saturday. This is a follow on of the Special Interest Group sessions done on the P@SHA Career Expo. The workshop will cover how developers can test and debug their code faster and eventually build better code and hence applications. This is a great chance for developers and team leads to also meet up and discuss their practices. Sheheryar Sewani of Alchemy will be facilitating.
Details are below,
P@SHA and Agile Pakistan’s Unit Testing Workshop
As your software projects grow, the chances of hidden bugs spoiling the ever
critical build process also increases several fold. How can you be certain
your last commit didn’t break the build? How do you know the code is
behaving as you expect it to? At the 11th hour your PM is on your head, the
client starts freaking out and you wish you had done just that extra testing
earlier on. But testing is annoying. How do you make it easy and painless?
You write Unit Tests!
Unit testing lets you test your code as your write it, ensuring fewer bugs
from the start. Having unit tests makes it easier and safer to modify
existing code because the tests document and protect the intended behavior
and will instantly catch any problems, so you can spend less time debugging
and more time writing new innovative code.
In the presentation Sheheryar will introduce Unit Testing and discuss its
benefits. We will then get a chance to look at NUnit and test a small
application using it. NUnit is a popular open source, automated unit testing
framework for .NET.
The presentation will be held at PixSense on August 23, 2008 at 4PM. PixSense is located at:
172/P Najeeb Corner, 4th Floor
Block 2 PECHS Karachi
Seating is limited, please register by sending an email confirming

Hi:
I was very interested in taking this workshop over Unit Testing, but the sentence “Registration for the event has been closed due to seating limitations.” ruined all my plans
Nevertheless, I must say this is pretty good effort from both P@SHA and AgilePakistan.
I’ll look forward to attend other workshops or trainings in near future.
Thanks & Regards,
S.Haider Raza
